Canvas Teacher Mobile App


The Canvas Teacher Mobile App empowers instructors to manage their courses efficiently from mobile devices. With this app, you can grade assignments, communicate with students, update course content, and more, all while on the go. This guide provides detailed instructions to help you effectively use the app's features.

1. Downloading and Installing the App

For iOS Devices:
Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
Search for "Canvas Teacher."
Tap "Get" to download and install the app.

For Android Devices:
Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
Search for "Canvas Teacher."
Tap "Install" to download and install the app.

2. Logging into the App

Open the Canvas Teacher app.
Tap "Find my school."
Enter "Emory University" in the search bar.
Select "Emory University" from the search results.
Log in using your Emory NetID and password.

3. Navigating the Dashboard

Upon logging in, you'll see your Dashboard, which displays all your active courses.

Course Cards: Tap on a course card to access that specific course.
Navigation Menu: Access the main menu by tapping the three horizontal lines in the top-left corner. Here, you can navigate to:
Inbox: Communicate with students.
To-Do List: View tasks and assignments that need attention.
Notifications: Check recent announcements and updates.

4. Managing Course Content

Assignments: Create, view, and edit assignments.
Discussions: Participate in and moderate course discussions.
Pages: Edit existing pages to keep course content up-to-date.

5. Grading with SpeedGrader

Navigate to the specific assignment within your course.
Tap "SpeedGrader."
Swipe left or right to move between student submissions.
Provide grades, leave comments, and annotate submissions directly within the app.

Inbox: Access the Inbox to send and receive messages from students.
